The Housekeeping Worker position at Montefiore Medical Group plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment within the healthcare facility. Responsibilities include performing routine cleaning tasks in patient rooms, offices, and common areas to ensure a safe and hygienic atmosphere for both patients and staff. Housekeeping Workers are responsible for disposing of waste, sanitizing surfaces, and replenishing supplies as needed. They adhere to infection control protocols and contribute to the overall infection prevention efforts. The role involves working closely with other members of the environmental services team, communicating effectively to prioritize cleaning tasks and respond promptly to urgent cleaning needs. Housekeeping Workers at Montefiore Medical Group play a vital role in promoting a healing and comfortable environment for patients while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with healthcare regulations and guidelines.

Monday to Friday 7:30a-4:00p
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required

Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek.
